About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Lodi, CA, Village Coffee Shop is a beloved breakfast destination that perfectly captures the warm, inviting spirit of a classic hometown café. Specializing in hearty American breakfast fare, this cozy spot offers an authentic dining experience that leaves guests feeling comforted and satisfied from the very first bite.

Their menu is a treasure trove for breakfast lovers, boasting generous portions and rich, flavorful dishes. The Carne Asada with Cheese Gravy, Country Potatoes, and Two Eggs on Top is a standout, marrying tender, savory meat with creamy cheese gravy over perfectly seasoned potatoes, all crowned with fresh eggs cooked just right. If you’re craving something sweet, their French Toast promises a golden, fluffy delight that melts in your mouth—ideal for a leisurely morning treat.

Egg enthusiasts will find plenty to love in their diverse selection of omelettes. The Chili Cheese Omelette packs a punch with hearty chiles and melted cheese, while the Garden Omelette, brimming with broccoli, tomato, zucchini, onion, and mushrooms, offers a vibrant, wholesome option. Each omelette is expertly crafted with two extra-large eggs and served alongside two generous sides, ensuring a satisfying, complete meal.

For those who appreciate a well-rounded breakfast, the Order Biscuit & Gravy and hash browns deliver traditional comfort food with flavors that evoke a sense of nostalgia and warmth. Pair these with a freshly brewed cup of coffee, and you have the perfect start to your day.

The dining atmosphere at Village Coffee Shop is just as delightful as the food. Customers consistently praise its old-school, diner-style ambiance that feels both clean and welcoming. It has that rare, cherished “hometown” vibe where strangers become familiar faces and service feels genuinely friendly and attentive. Longtime local James Tucker shared how the portions are “huge” and the chicken fried steak—the best he’s ever tasted—was so filling he couldn’t finish it. Meanwhile, Tierney Kilgariff captured the essence of the cafe perfectly, calling it the kind of warm, community-centered place you hope to find in any neighborhood.

Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or planning a hearty family breakfast, Village Coffee Shop offers an inviting retreat with excellent food, reasonable prices, and a genuine connection to the local community. It’s a place where fresh, flavorful breakfasts meet authentic, heartfelt service—making every visit feel like coming home.

Huge portions and the best Chicken fried steak I've had! So big I couldn't finish it! Lived in area for 45 years and first time here, kicking myself for not trying sooner! Place looks and feels very clean. Excellent service.

This place has a really hometown feel and the staff and customers were so welcoming. It felt like a great cafe community, the kind you search for in a neighborhood! I only had a cup of joe, but the plates that were coming out of the kitchen looked great!
